ALL THE ANNOUNCEMENTS From PLAYSTATION’S State of Play Showcase 2019

Sony PlayStation’s State of Play  is a new regularly scheduled Nintendo Direct-inspired livestream show .Which highlighted a number of new titles and showcased the re-reveal of the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake with a new trailer and much more. While playstation won’t be attending E3 this year, it’s following Nintendo’s lead with video press releases, like the one it held yesterday.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

After a multi-year absence, Square Enix and PlayStation have re-revealed the long-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake. Since development moved internally to Square Enix. while the teaser proved to be brief we did get confirmation that we’ll learn more in June, presumably at Square Enix’s E3 panel

Predator: Hunting Grounds

The lore of 1987 action classic Predator returns to video games with Predator: Hunting Grounds, an asymmetric, cooperative/competitive multiplayer game from IllFonic, the studio that made a Friday the 13th video game along the same lines. Play as an elite Fireteam charged to complete paramilitary operations while a Predator mercilessly hunts you. Or, BE the Predator, armed with all the deadly alien weaponry you’ve grown to love and pursue your prey

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

The critically acclaimed monster hunting game Monster Hunter World is getting a chilly new DLC expansion called Iceborne, arriving on September 6. This package will contain new armor, story, and of course, new monsters. If you haven’t checked out Monster Hunter World yet, definitely give it a go before Iceborne releases.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint forgoes a real-world locale for the fictional island of Auroa, a mysterious archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. Unrestricted by the geographic rules of a place that actually exists, the gorgeous location features everything from snow-capped peaks and sandy beaches to lush jungles and even an active volcano. Aurora is also home to Skell Technology, a Silicon Valley-like corporation focused on building autonomous drones to do good deeds, like heal the sick and end hunge

Riverbond

Riverbond is an indie dungeon crawler coming this summer. A gorgeous and colorful title, it now features a stunning cast of indie guest stars like Shovel Knight and Raz from the stellar PsychoNauts. While the title doesn’t appear to be deep, it looks like a lot of good, old-fashioned, co-op fun.

MediEvil

The remake of the classic 1998 hack-and-slash MediEvil got a release date: October 23. I’m a big fan of Sir Daniel Fortesque, even when no one knew who he was in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. One of the most style-forward games from back in the days of PSX, it’ll give us retro gamers awesome new graphics and fun gameplay.

Away: Survival Series

This is like Animal Planet: The Video Game. You work in a food chain to try and survive prey and nature, and it actually looks pretty cool. The environments are gorgeous, and by the early looks, it may have a very in-depth AI system. Not a lot is known about this game, but let’s hope there’s some co-op and online multiplayer—swooping down as a vulture and taking out my rodent friends is one of the only gaming experiences I’ve been missing.
