Gamescom 2019 : Best trailers , Gameplay and Reveals from Europe’s leading trade fair

Gamescom 2019 is come to an end, so to celebrate we’ve put together a list of our favourite brand new exclusive trailers & Gameplay that were revealed during the event.


The trailers are in no particular order, however we have listed the best clips that feature actual gameplay to begin with, followed by the just as impressive cinematic trailers. Gamescom featured many trailers for triple-A titles set to debut at the end of 2019, but the best clips showed are for indie games. Some noteworthy games include sequel to one of our favourite games from 2016, Everspace 2, and dungeon-crawler, Creature in the Well. However there were several major titles that stood out too, including long standing favourite Destiny 2, and Death Stranding, for which gamers were spoilt to 3 exclusive trailers!

Darksiders Genesis Gameplay

Reworking their classic game with new isometric camera angles, Darksiders Genesis, the newest game in the franchise, brings us a top down hack and slash RPG, reminiscent of Zelda. The game features new Co-Op gameplay mode, enabling players to team up with a friend to play as Strife and War, two of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. With the new synergy meter and abilities in co-op mode, Genesis is the first game in the series to focus on Strife, and feature him as a playable character.

Death Stranding Gameplay

Gamescom bought us a long awaited gameplay trailer for Death Stranding, but as expected this still revealed little about the storyline. Despite being kept mainly in the dark, fans are still excited to see what Hideo Kojima has to offer with this highly anticipated title coming exclusively to PS4 soon. This trailer confirms we should continue to expect mystery, humour and weirdness.

Need for speed Heat Gameplay

Highly anticipated new gameplay for Need for Speed Heat dropped at Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live on Monday, and it reveals how players will need to evade police as they roam the city streets, improving their reputation with challenges in order to remodel their cars.

Disintegration Multiplayer Gameplay

Disintegration was announced at Gamescom by publisher Public Division, the studio responsible for other upcoming games such as The Outer World and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. The announcement came with an exclusive trailers and multiplayer gameplay for the new sci-fi FPS, although the trailers were mostly cinematic , The multiplayer gameplay is featured too.

Yakuza Remastered Collection

The reputed remaster of Yakuza is finally here, and the biggest surprise from Sega is that part one (Yakuza 3) was made available digitally on PS4 as soon as the announcement was made. The Yakuza Remastered Collection is currently only available as a digital package, containing Yakuza 3,4 and 5. Purchasing the package now enables players to access 3 immediately, with access to 4 & 5 yet to come. Whilst only available digitally now, a physical copy will be available in the future. Fifa 20 Volta Gameplay

EA Sports’ latest offering brings with it a blast from the past in the form of the FIFA Street-inspired mode.In Volta, players can take part in three-, four- or five-a-side games of street football and futsal in smaller, urban arenas.What’s more, skill moves and adding flair to shots or passes have also been streamlined in Volta, so players can show off their tricks more easily

373,000 gamers  including 31,300 industry attendees , Squeezed their way through the halls of the Cologne conference center over the 5 days of Gamescom 2019. It is hard to see how Gamescom can much boost those footfall numbers . This year’s event was sold ou but online the sky’s the limit. Gamescom’s inaugural Opening Night Live event — a show preview produced and hosted by Games Award creator Geoff Keighley . Was watched by more than 500,000 worldwide on live-stream. Organizers say Gamescom video content was viewed more than 100 million times during the conference. All that points to an even bigger Gamescom for next year, when the event runs Aug. 25-29, 2020.
