The seventh character trailer for the upcoming game Samurai Shodown shines a spotlight on the game’s main protagonist, Haohmaru is a wandering swordsman with no loyalties to any lord. This ronin loves to fight against strong opponents and puts his all into defeating anyone who stands in the way with his legendary sword Fugudoku.
Haohmaru was one of the first characters revealed for Samurai Shodown. You could almost say that he is similar to Ryu of the Street Fighter series.
Haohmaru has been in the games since the first Samurai Shodown way back in 1993. He’s generally been seen as the series main protagonist and has been in every mainline entry released, usually the one accredited to defeating the main villain. He has no master, and travels the land to perfect his sword skills. As you can see from the trailer below, he’s a pretty steady character, not particularly slow or fast, but definitely can cause some real damage with his spinning blade attacks.
Samurai Shodown is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 25 in the Americas and Europe, and June 27 in Japan. Switch and PC versions are planned for release in Q4 2019.
