SONY has confirmed they’ll be in attendance at Paris Games Week, but having already admitted they ‘held back’ certain ps4 announcements from E3, could Sony be set to try and disrupt Microsoft’s XboxOneX launch ?
It Looks like Sony really is going to go hard at Paris Games Week , Despite this event taking place just a few weeks prior to the PlayStation Experience in December. A new PlayStation Blog post notes that the platform holder will be making “big new game announcements and updates” in the French capital later this month.
Sony elected to skip Paris Games Week last year and back in June, Sony global sales and marketing chief Jim Ryan teased at the possible return to the European event. It sounds like it hours of streaming has been planned: “On 30th October, Sony segment starting at 3PM GMT/4:00PM CET, PlayStation Live From Paris Games Week will kick off with a slew of updates and announcements before moving straight into the Paris Games Week 2017 Media Showcase, where you’ll get a look at some spectacular new games coming to PS4 and PlayStation VR.”
While unlikely to be big showcase like E3 2017, There are plenty of reasons to be excited by the prospect of a post-E3 Media Showcase. and that’s because we’ve already been informed that Sony deliberately held back certain announcements fro E3 2017.
“There are things we have held back ,” Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said at the time.
“We chose not to show those at E3 2017, but there will be some more news coming out from our teams later this year. No question.”
It could be that Sony is saving these announcements for PSX in December, but with the event just one week ahead of the launch of Microsoft’s Xbox One X, we can think of no better time for Sony to well and truly throw the cat among the pigeons and spoil Microsoft’s party.
It may only be Paris Games Week, but Sony has shown a willingness to reveal big new exclusives at the event in the past, so we see no reason why they couldn’t do this yet again here.
A good bet is that we’ll see a little more from Sony’s third-party partnerships in the lead up to Christmas.- would it be too soon to see the first Destiny 2 DLC? If it launches this side of Christmas, perhaps not. So brace yourself for quite a few reveals related to PS4 exclusive content coming to the likes of Christmas must-have games such as Destiny 2, Call of Duty WW2 and plenty more.
