Today, Square Enix hosted a livestream that was solely focused on Final Fantasy XV news . But what transpired turned out to be inconceivably terrible . Square Enix Revealed the “Dawn of the Future” DLCs announced in April , were going to be canceled with the exception of Episode Ardyn. This means that Episode Aranea, Episode Lunafreya and Episode Noctis will no longer be released. and game director Hajime Tabata has left the company altogether. He insists that he is working on a new project and starting his own business to pursue his dreams, handing over the direction of Final Fantasy XV “to the next generation group of talented and trustworthy colleagues.”
Square Enix had planned to continue the never-ending flow of Final Fantasy XV content all through 2019 with four DLC episodes centered on the characters Ardyn, Aranea, Lunafreya, and Noctis. Instead, only the Ardyn episode will be released — the other three have been abandoned
Episode Ardyn will be released in March 2019. According to Square Enix, it will tell a story that happens 30 years from the main and will explain more about Ardyn. An animated short called “Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn – Prologue” will be soon released as well.
Parallel to this dlc , The Comrades stand alone multiplayer expansion will be released December 12 , The New dlc will bring 10 new bosses, as well as clothes and weapons.
Square Enix points out that Comrades multiplayer will no longer be playable in FFXV when the standalone version is released. Users who purchased the expansion can download it at no additional cost. It is not yet known what will happen with the trophies (they will eventually become inaccessible, if they have not yet caught them). It is worth mentioning though, that multiplayer is accessible offline. So in the latter case, just do not install any upgrades if you wish to keep this function !!!!
The separate Comrades Dlc will launch on December 13th.
A collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV was also revealed. , Which will be released as a free update on December 12.
FFXV players can enjoy a side quest called “Adventurer from Another World”, in which a young Miqo’te named Y’jhimei arrives from the world of FFXIV . A battle against a primal Garuda will happen at this event.

The quest can be unlocked after completing the main quest “Beginning of the Hexatheon’s Blessings / Touch the First Runestone”. To find it, you must accept it in Cauthless Rest Area of the Duscae region.
Despite canceling development of several Final Fantasy XV episodes, there’s a ton of other directions Square Enix is taking the Game.
