The fifth installment of the series Is the latest offering from a sci-fi Franchise with a reputation for mindless bloat, And you’d assume you’ll be looking at the franchise’s most dreadful offering yet. But surprise the fifth Transformers Movie – The Last Knight, Is far from the worst even tho the box office sales do not match previous transformer movies
The Winner At the box office this weekend :
Transformers: The Last Knight, Is the Newst in a seemingly endless series of sequels , It had no problem Moving Wonder Woman off number 1 at the box office after weeks of fanatic fans loving the movie !!! Transformers Now at number 1 with a estimated £4.64m, including £734,000 in previews. That’s Nearly as much as the rest of the films in the top 10 list put together over the weekend .
When you get deep down into the details and the Revenue generated begins to look less impressive. Previous Transformers instalment Age of Extinction kicked off with a Massive £11.75m, although that number was boosted by six days of previews, Which contributed £8.04m. Also in the series the Dark of the Moon (2011) began with £6.5m (£10.73m including previews) And the Revenge of the Fallen (2009) with £8.35m (no previews) and the original Transformers (2007) with £4.9m (£7.26m including previews).
So far this year, Not including previews 13 films have opened bigger than The Last Knight . including Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and Wonder Woman. Currently, the IMDb user rating for the film is a mediocre 5.3/10. That should be a worry for Paramount pictures , Hasbro and partners . Because franchise fans tend to rush to see a movie first, and user ratings tend to drift downwards. The MetaCritic score is a dismal 28/100.
